Un modelo con una pantalla de 46 pulgadas se venderá por 350.000 yenes, 3.875 dólares.

Sony anunció el martes que comenzará a vender en junio sus televisores 3D en Japón, ingresando a un terreno en el que cada vez hay más competidores que luchan por liderar las ventas del que muchos ven como el próximo producto de moda entre los artículos electrónicos.

El gigante de la electrónica y el entretenimiento prevé que un modelo con una pantalla de 46 pulgadas se venderá por 350.000 yenes (3.875 dólares) y que un modelo de 40 pulgadas cueste 290.000 yenes.

El éxito de ciencia ficción 'Avatar' y otros títulos recientes aumentaron el interés masivo por las películas en 3D, y los fabricantes de artículos electrónicos ahora se están apresurando para sacar al mercado televisores de pantalla plana con efectos visuales tridimensionales.

Panasonic anunció planes para lanzar el miércoles sus televisores 3D en Estados Unidos, y coopera con la cadena minorista Best Buy Co en la promoción de estos productos.

El mes pasado Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, la marca número uno de televisores del mundo, inició la venta de televisores 3D en Corea del Sur y dijo que la extenderá a todo el mundo en marzo, con el objetivo de vender al menos 2 millones de unidades este año.

Sony dijo que planea iniciar la venta de sus televisores 3D en el extranjero cerca de la fecha en la que saldrán a la venta en Japón.

Tras el anuncio, las acciones de Sony subían un 1,37 por ciento.
